Oyster Catcher
There are twelve species of oystercatcher in the world, two are found in the UK and all look very similar. With an appearance of a smartly turned out waiter complete in tuxedo, a striking bright orange beak and an unmistakable call. To my mind, these birds, more than any other, help define the landscape and identity of Orkney.
